Seniors like Rehan Butt, Shakeel Abbasi, Waseem Ahmed and Imran Wasti, who can be considered for selection for the Olympics, had gone to play in the WSH, which is not recognised by the PHF or the FIH.

You gave them votes but in return, the PPP government only provided you inflation, unemployment and load shedding.
Pointing towards the children at the rally, he said that they are deprived of education because their parents cannot afford to send them to schools. He listed other issues, such as lack of hospitals, schools and roads, saying that the people of Sindh were living miserable lives. “But don’t worry because soon the situation of the entire country, including Sindh, will improve,” he reassured the crowd.

Think before you vote
He urged the people to think twice before voting, saying You never voted for me but I still love you while PPP, who got all your votes, never bothered about you”.
Referring to last year’s devastating rains, Nawaz said that he was the first one to visit the affected areas. He promised that if PML-N comes into power, the people would be provided with roads, schools, medical colleges, universities and much more.
Agha Imtiaz Khan Babar, a close relative of PPP’s Agha Siraj Durrani, announced joining the PML- N. The rally was cut short due to light drizzle.
Earlier, talking to the media in Tarai, the native place of Sardar Himmat Ali Kamariyo, Nawaz advised the government to stop playing the Sindh card, saying “there is no credit left in it”. Singling out interior minister Rehman Malik, Nawaz alleged that his past was full of corruption but President Asif Ali Zardari waived off his convictions.
Bringing up the resolution about forming a province in Southern Punjab, he said that the President does not know what he is doing. “Zardari is playing with fire.”

Zeenat, who had picked bronze in the second leg the other day by recording 13.93 metres, grabbed another bronze in the third leg of the event with 13.69 metres although her effort did not exceed the earlier one. Zeenat, who had entered the event with her personal best of 13.22, made laudable improvement during the competitions as she had also done well in the first leg by throwing the shot upto 13.62.

Meanwhile, the country’s fastest athlete Liaquat Ali, who will represent Pakistan in the London Olympics on wild card along with Rabia Ashiq, remained the biggest disappointment as he recorded 10.82 seconds, lower than his previous attempts of 10.70 each in the first two legs. But the encouraging thing was that Liaquat inked 10.70 in the first two legs, his personal best.

The 800metres specialist Rabia Ashiq, who had come up with her personal best performances in the first two legs with timings of 2:13.25 and 2:10.65, was disqualified in the third round, which ended her hope to make a national record which she wanted to do. Rabia had entered the meet with her personal best timing of 2:22.83.

Farhan Ahmad, another 800metres specialist, who had recorded 1:50.91 and 1:49.89 in the first two legs, fell short of his previous efforts and inked 1:51.37 in the third round. Farhan failed to better his personal best timing of 1:50.14 which he had recorded in the World Athletics Championship in Daegu (South Korea) last year.
