Islamabad (April 26, 2012) – PM Yousuf Raza Gilani says he will appear before the Supreme Court to hear the verdict in contempt case.

A seven-member larger bench of Supreme Court is set to announce its verdict in court of contempt case against PM Gilani today (26-04-2012).


PM Gilani was charged with contempt by the apex court in February for refusing to write to the Swiss authorities to ask them to reopen corruption cases against President Asif Ali Zardari.


Addressing the cabinet meeting‚ the prime minister said he has always accorded respect to the judiciary and implemented its decisions.
It will be the third time that the prime minister will be appearing before the apex court.
The federal cabinet meanwhile has expressed confidence in the leadership of Prime Minister Gilani.
Meanwhile, Interior Minister Rehman Malik said that the whole cabinet will accompany Prime Minster Yousaf Raza Gilani in the court tomorrow.

  1. Would have been nice if the detailed verdict is made public as soon as possible to end
    the prevailing confusion as every one is trying to explain his wishful thinking even the
    people who have no knowledge of law. Natlion is under lots of pressure and should be spared from and further adbentures. I don’t know why court has left an ambiguity in the verdict. We all should wait for a detailed explanation by court. Each pillar of state should think about the nation instead of trying to prove thier muscles to each other
