Election Commission postponed Bye-Election polls in 6 NA and 4 PA Seats till Feb 25, 2012

Election Commission postponed Bye-Election polls in ten constituencies

Islamabad (January 27, 2012) – Pollings for six national assembly and four provincial assembly seats were scheduled to take place on February 20 which has been postponed for five days.


According to Election Commission (EC), Supreme Court ordered extension of polling date to ensure transparent voters list.
Constituencies include NA 90 Mardan, NA 104 Kasur, NA 148-149 Multan, NA 158 Vehari and NA 195 Rahim Yar Khan.
Provincial constituencies include PP 18 Attock, PP 44 Mianwali, PS 57 Badin and PS 53 Tandu Muhammad Khan.
By-elections will start on February 25.

ECP REVISES BYE-ELECTIONS’ SCHEDULE

  Islamabad, the 27th January, 2012.-             The Election Commission of Pakistan, in pursuance to the Order dated 19-01-2012 passed by the Hon’ble Supreme Court of Pakistan, cancelled the schedule of following constituencies and fixed 25th  February 2012 as polling day instead of 20th February 2012:

4-         Moreover, the Election Commission of Pakistan has fixed 25th February, 2012  instead of 15th February, 2012 as poll day in Constituency No.PS-57 Badin-I (Old Badin-III) and      25th February, 2012  instead of 6th February, 2012 as poll day in Constituency No.PP-18 Attock-IV.

[Provided that it shall not be necessary for candidates who have already filed their Nomination Papers, to file fresh Nomination Forms or make deposit under Section 13 of the Representation of the People Act, 1976.]
