Hajj Quota Case in Supreme Court – Decision Announcement Tomorrow
Islamabad (Monday, May 02, 2016 / Breaking News Update) – Today in Supreme Court of Pakistan hearing of Hajj Quota 2016 AD / 1437 AH held. Hajj Ministry official / advocate required stay orders in this petition but Supreme Court refused to do so. While SC has sought reply from Hajj ministry regarding approval of Hajj policy from related authorized committee.
Final Orders tomorrow
Supreme Court Judges announced that final judgment on this petition will be announced tomorrow on Tuesday, 3rd May 2016.
This petition has been submitted by private Hajj Tour Operators against the allotment of Hajj Applications quota for year 2015 /1437. In the current hajj policy 2016, Government of Pakistan has reduced the hajj quota of private operators from 50% to 40%. While quota for Government hajj Scheme has been increased from 50 percent to 60 percent.
New Date of hajj balloting
After that Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith harmony will decide the Date of Balloting of Govt. hajj Scheme Applicants. Earlier the balloting was schedule to held on Friday, 29th April 2016.
