Indian Movie Ek Tha Tiger Banned In Pakistan

Salman Khan’s new film Ek Tha Tiger was scheduled to release in Pakistani cinemas on 15 August 2012. But as per the new directives by PEMRA, it has now asked all the satellite TV Channels and distribution networks of Pakistan to not to air the movie promos of Ek Tha Tiger. The screening of the movie in Pakistan is now dependent upon the approval from Central board of film censors.

Due to the movie’s depiction of the secret activities of the intelligence agencies of both Pakistan and Indian secret services, ISI (Inter-services Intelligence) and RAW (Research and Analysis Wing) respectively – Karachi’s chapter of the PEMRA was forced to issue a strict letter of action against the much awaited Bollywood film.

The letter is addressed to all satellite television channels and distribution networks to make sure, due to the fear of ISI’s reputation being destroyed, that they do not promote the film ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ until a NOC (No Objection Certificate) is issued by Central Board of Film Censors.

The film is directed by Kabir Khan, produced by Yash Raj Films and stars big names Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif. Considering the fact that within just two days, the movies theatrical trailer got more than 1 million views; the movie has already become the most awaited Bollywood film.
