Amir Khan Paid Visit To Army Public School Peshawar

British boxing champion of Pakistani origin Amir Khan paid a visit to Army Public School in Peshawar targeted by Taliban militants on December 16. Expressing grief over the loss of at least 148 people in the brutal attack, Khan said that he came to Pakistan to meet with the bereaved families of the victims.

“Children must not be scared to go back to school and the onus is on us to instill confidence in them, and also help to improve the country’s security situation,” he added. Expressing the hope of successful joint efforts of the security forces, he said “all we can do is pray [for the victims families] and hope [terrorist attacks] do not occur again.”

Khan also visited Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Gen Raheel Sharif at the General Headquarters in Rawalpindi.  Gen Raheel, reportedly, admired the services of Khan for Pakistan.
