Mobilink Foundation in partnership with Sundus Foundation and Indus Hospital Karachi, has organized Pakistan’s largest corporate blood collection drive. The nationwide blood donation drive organized by Mobilink’s CSR team, the drive was organized across 15 Mobilink offices nationwide where the employees provided blood donations.
Contributing further to the cause, Mobilink in partnership with Sundus Foundation and Indus Hospital Karachi brought onboard country’s leading educational institutes, Hamdard University Karachi, Punjab Group of Colleges, Lead University Lahore, Government College for Boys Shalimar Campus and Submit College Faisalabad to help over 3,500 young Thalassemia patients across Pakistan.
The drive was as a means of collecting blood for children suffering from a range of chronic and life threatening illnesses including Thalassemia. Thalassemia is a hereditary genetic blood disorder. Over 5,000 children are born with this disease in Pakistan every year and their survival depends on regular blood transfusion for the rest of their lives. Many children succumb to early demise because of not being able to receive blood transfusion in time.
