ISLAMABAD (January 7, 2012) : First Snowfall Spell of the year 2012 has been started in Swat, Chitral, Hazara, Naran, Kaghan, Gilgit Baltistan, Murree, Abbottabad, Lower Dir, Upper Dir and Kashmir.
In Nathiya Gali and other parts of Abbottabad, snowfall continued for third consecutive day.

Snowfall has been recorded after 6 years at Margalla Hills in Islamabad. The mountains including picnic point Pir Suhawa wore a white snow cover and a cold wave has gripped the twin cities.

In Murree, road links have been closed for all kind of traffic due to continued snowfall that started Friday night.
Intermittent snowfall is also continuing in upper areas of Skardu for the last five days.
Hazara division, Batgram, Naran, Swat, upper and lower Orakzai, Bonir, Shangla, Malakand Agency are receiving sporadic rains besides snowfall in the upper areas.
In city areas of Kotli Azad Kashmir snowfall after 40 years turned the weather pleasant.
