Nawaz Sharif Inaugurates Dasu Dam/Hydro Power project
Total Capacity of Electricity generation = 4230MW
Located on Indus River and Karakoram Highway
Dasu-Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (Wednesday, June 25, 2014) – A millstone in the journey of Pakistan’s cheapest power projects. Prime minister of Pakistan has inaugurated the work on long awaited power house plus dam at Dasu.
It will generate 4230 Mega Watts of electricity after completion. In its fist phase It will start to supply in national grid of 2160 MW in next five years (in 2019).
After Terbela and Mangla Dam it will the biggest achievement in the history of hydral power generation.
It is located along the karakoran highway.
Diamer-Basha Dam is another Power Project being built near Chilas in the Diamer district. Its area consist of both khyber Pakhtukhwa and Giligit Baltistan.

It is estimated that Pakistan can generate almost fifty thousand (50,000) Mega Watts electricity by utilizing the potential of Indus River.



Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif along with Mnister of Water and Power Khawaja Muhammad Asif is inaugurating the Dasu hydro power project on June 25, 2014.
